Hazards of XC Skiing - Wyoming Style

Ben navigates a cattle guard on his cross-country skiis -- at The Nature Conservancy's Red Canyon Ranch near Lander, Wyoming

Laura and Bud headed back to the truck.  We are so lucky to have this beautiful place to ski just 20 minutes away from home.

Ode to Girlfriends

Annual New Year's Eve Snowhoe Trek - Zero Degrees, Sinks Canyon

My girlfriends ROCK. We have this great tradition of doing something outdoorsy for our birthdays and other special occasions.  And the best part is, for our birthdays, the party girl gets to pick the adventure. We've skied, snowshoed, hiked and biked -- with coffee cake, beer, hot damn, hot cocoa, scones, and homemade Irish cream. You name it -- we've hauled it up a mountain. The best part is not the food or drink, it's each other -- our friendships, and the gut busting laughter that we share. Here's just a few of our birthday treks and holiday traditions, and other random aimless fun.
